Description:

BACKGROUND:

Suniva operates a Solar Cell manufacturing factory in the Atlanta Georgia metropolitan area. The factory operates 24x7 producing over 100 MW per year of high-efficiency, monocrystalline, silicon Solar Cells. We will almost double our capacity again this year! RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the Manufacturing Engineering staff to support a 24x7 factory operation.
  • Maintain engineering control procedures to ensure that line operations run in a consistent and controlled manner.
  • Work with Management and with Manufacturing Operations to set quality and output goals.
  • Work with Manufacturing Operations to achieve quality and output objectives.
  • Establish and manage a program of continuous improvement consistent with company business objectives.
  • Work with R&D to evaluate and aggressively implement new technology.
  • Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
  • Provide training as required to line personnel.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree in a technical field, (Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • Ten years direct experience in manufacturing engineering with significant supervisory experience.
  • Experience with advanced statistics, statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) methods.
  • Experience in Photovoltaic, Semiconductor or other high-tech / high-purity manufacturing.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or operations management desirable.
  • Experience with implementing or sustaining an Engineering Change program consistent with ISO-9001 or equivalent.
  • Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices (LMP) is desirable.
